Stubb's created legendary BBQ sauces, distributed worldwide. He was the owner of an American barbecue restaurant and a patron of music. Stubb's was also renowned for his barbecue sauces, spreads and marinades distributed by his company Stubb's Legendary Kitchen.
The story of Stubb's sauces
Born in 1931, the first time Stubb cooked for someone was as a sergeant for the American army.
In 1968 he settled in Lubbock, Texas (USA) and opened his first restaurant, naming it Stubb's Legendary Bar-B-Q. Stubb gained notoriety and became the blues and BBQ restaurant not to be missed. In the mid-1980s he moved his restaurant to Austin, still in Texas. The artists who already visited his old restaurant still stop by the new one, and in the meantime some have become famous. Everyone stops to eat at Stubb's, even the president!
Some time later he bottled his first sauces and his popularity exploded in Texas from the very first bottles.
In 1992 he sold his first bottles of Stubb's original barbecue sauce and Stubb's spicy BBQ sauce in stores. At that time Stubb still made his sauces by hand! But as early as 1993 the demand was too strong, he was no longer able to manufacture himself and by hand, so he looked for someone capable of manufacturing for him.
In 1998 he began exporting internationally, starting with England.
Today Stubb has returned to natural ingredients for his sauces and has even developed a line of spices!
