Dried Chilies in Powder or Whole

How to use dried chili?

You can grind it into powder, crumble it, or rehydrate it. It all depends on the recipe and desired intensity. You can add it to your spices, directly to your plate, in your miso (white or red doesn't matter) or in your simmering dishes.

What's the difference between whole dried chili and chili powder?

Chili powder is ready to use, convenient for quick seasoning. Whole chili retains even more flavors and can be used rehydrated or infused, it still has its seeds. You can obviously remove the seeds if you want to reduce the heat.

Which are the hottest chilies?

The Carolina Reaper, Jolokia, and Trinidad Scorpion are ranked among the hottest in the world.

How long can dried chili be stored?

In an airtight jar, protected from moisture and light, it can be stored for several months without losing its taste.
