To ensure your barbecue remains a great moment of pleasure, I suggest some basic safety rules to follow so that the party is perfect. Indeed, during our barbecues, we are often absent-minded because we spend more time with friends or family than in front of the barbecue, however, the extreme heat it generates can be dangerous and requires some precautionary measures.

  • Rule number 1: barbecue is outdoor cooking, and must remain outdoors. Whether it's gas or wood, never barbecue inside your home (or even at friends' homes...). Barbecues emit carbon monoxide, which is very dangerous for health and causes numerous deaths each year.
  • Rule number 2: Always have enough gas (for a gas barbecue). A full gas cylinder guarantees 30 to 50 barbecues. The simplest way is to always have an additional full gas cylinder at home to cover any eventuality. Similarly for wood barbecues, make sure to always have enough wood or charcoal at home.
  • Rule number 3: Always have the right utensils for your barbecue. Forks and knives are for eating, not for cooking, especially on the barbecue. Why not use them? Because they are not suitable, the temperature above the fire is intense, and the right tools will allow you to grab and turn food without burning yourself. The ideal tool is BBQ tongs, as they allow you to turn the meat without damaging it. Especially, do not use a knife as you risk slicing the meat, causing it to lose its juices.
