The cubanelle pepper (or banana pepper) is a sweet pepper. It is widely used in Puerto Rican, Spanish, and Italian cuisine. It can be fried or cooked on the barbecue. It can also be eaten raw in salads. It's an easy pepper to work with in the kitchen as it's not very hot. The heat is concentrated in the seeds, so you can simply remove them to reduce the pepper's heat.
It will keep fresh in the vegetable drawer.
