The traditional North Carolina barbecue sauce recipe is based on mustard and vinegar. Excellent for pork and poultry.
Ingredients for Piedmont barbecue sauce:
- 120 ml apple cider vinegar
- 120 ml ketchup
- 120 ml water
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon chili pepper, adjust to taste
- You can add a bit of hot sauce if you prefer it spicier.
Piedmont barbecue sauce recipe:
Mix all ingredients, and refrigerate for several days to allow the peppers to flavor the entire sauce.
