Our tasting review of this Cholula Extra Hot sauce

Being used to the mild spiciness of the Cholula brand, this new Extra Hot recipe pleasantly surprised us.

The taste of Arbol and Pequin peppers explodes in your mouth from the first bite. The spices remind us that this is indeed a Mexican sauce, and the garlic comes in at the end to add roundness.

We tested this sauce with tortillas and the least we can say is that the sauce enhanced them, turning classic tortillas into a most pleasant spicy moment!

Strength of Cholula hot sauce

It's hot but not extreme, estimated at 40,000 on the Scoville scale. It's for those of you who want to step up a notch on the chili scale.

This sauce is ideal with:

Roasted potatoes, avocados, burgers, grilled corn, shrimp tzatziki appetizers, fajitas and anything that needs a peppy kick with a good chili taste.

Your drinks like tomato juice will also be enhanced with this spicy sauce.
