Dave's gourmet named after its owner and creator is a brand of particularly strong hot sauces. Its sauces have been awarded many times in hot sauce competitions, notably the national fiery food show which takes place every year in New Mexico with the Scovie Awards that reward the best hot sauces.
Dave's story
Just like Blair's, Dave's began his career in a Maryland restaurant where, bothered by bar regulars, he quickly understood that by serving them hot sauces he could make them leave the restaurant, this is how Dave's Insanity was born. His project was to make the strongest sauce in the world to calm his drunk clientele. Frustrated at having only beer-filled customers as an audience, he decided to present his sauce at the Scovie Awards which take place every year in the state of New Mexico. Dave's Insanity sauce made a "strong" impression and is the only sauce so far banned from the competition for being judged too hot… Today the range has considerably expanded and consists of sauces, vinegars, mustards, chips, popcorn…
